Slayers
Slayers - This first series
This starts out with Lina a young sorceress, traped buy some bandits then Gorry the handsome but not very smart swordsman saves her! Romantic right? no not really, gorry was hoping the Lina was some damsel in distress to bad but Gorry still feel's the need to protect Lina and comes with her on her journy as her gurdain. Later they meet up with Zelgadiss who's 1/3 golem, 1/3 demon, and 1/3 human. Apparently Zel is after a statue tha Lina has to resurrect the Lord of Darkness, Ruby-Eye Shabranigdu. They fight. Lina losses to Zelgadiss and his gang. But later Zelgadiss free's Lina. Yeah weird, but back to the story Zelgadiss' people think he's a tratior so they recapture Lina but Zelgadiss tricks them and they get killed. Zelgadiss and Lina resume their journey, during which time Zelgadiss reveals that he wants nothing more than the Orihalcon statue. Lina figures that Zelgadiss is now her bodyguard for the duration, and continues walking.
Later Lina here's Zel's story and finds out that Rezo, the Red Priest turned him into what he was and that he is Zel's great grandfather or something. She also finds out that Rezo is after the statue too, because it aparently holds the prized Philosopher's Stone.
Lina and Zelgadiss resolve to continue onwards to Atlas City, where they will hopefully rendezvous with Gourry and retrieve the Orihalcon Statue and the prized Philosopher's Stone.
They meet up with Gorry and the orihalcon statue. But the get attacked bye yet another bad guy after the philosopher's Stone. This one's name is Zorom.
After fighting the reach another town.
After some more fights Rezo steals the statue and Shabranigdu is Reborn! After Shabranigdu appears they do the whole fighting thing but they realise that magic won't work on Shabranigdu.Later Lina casts the "GIGA SLAVE" and that kills Rezo.
Later they have a bunch of mini adventures and they meet Amelia the protecter of Justice and they bring her with them to teach her magic because her father asked them to.
Lina, Gorry, and Zel find out that there is a bounty on their heads and head to Sairaag to find out who has placed this bounty on them. Ameila tags along.they chased all over the landscape by bounty hunters on the way. On the way they have several Episodes with the bandits and bounty hunters after Lina and the gang.
After a number of harrowing adventures, near misses, and harrowing escapes, Lina, Gourry, and Amelia have finally made it to Sairaag. While hiding in a haycart, they see the city of Sairaag and an immense tree which stands over the city: the holy tree, Flagoon. Lina remembers the story of how the demon beast Zanaffar was defeated by the Swordsman of Light (an ancestor of Gourry), and recounts how the warrior planted the holy tree in order to absorb and contain the miasma of evil which Zanaffar's dead body gave off. Gourry vaguely remembers hearing a story about this when he was a little boy, but - as he tells Lina and Amelia - he never paid any attention. Lina and her friends learn about the one who put the price on their heads: a woman by the name of Eris, who is connected with Rezo, the Red Priest.
Then they fight like in any good show but faced with a second Rezo, and holding clear memories of the first Rezo's death, Lina confidently declares that this Rezo must be an impostor. Zelgadis agrees, but Amelia is stunned to hear that Lina and Zelgadis killed the "original" Rezo: without knowing about Shabranigdu, Amelia doesn't know that Rezo wasn't the great man that all the legends say he was. Lina explains matters for Amelia in short terms, but Rezo brings up another question which is just as valid: "Did you really manage to kill me?"
Later Rezo acting ike a nut blows up half of Sairaag. Then Lina and the rest of them all go to Rezo's old lab looking for a weakness. Naturally Rezo follows them. They soon run into a well giant chicken who after being threntend to be cooked by Lina takes them to a giant store room where they search for Rezo's weakness.
They found a tablet that was Rezo's weakness but of cource Rezo's shows up at that moment. Eris uses magic to snag the tablet right out of Lina's grasp. With a triumphant laugh, Eris holds the tablet over her head: "This is Rezo's true legacy: the manuscript of the Clair Bible! Rezo's legacy is finally mine!"
With the object of their quest now in Eris' hands, Lina and her friends face off with Eris and Rezo. Lina demands that Eris return the tablet to them, but Eris points out that the tablet was originally Rezo's, and says that it should go back to its original owner. Lina sort of concedes that point, but is this Rezo really the proper owner of the tablet? And she launches a Burst Rondo attack. The tablet is incredibly powerful, and Eris uses it to deflect Lina's magical assault but she doesn't expect Zel's attack, and he leaps past her, swinging his sword at Rezo.
Eris explains her own history with Rezo, she was his most devoted follower, travelling with him as he performed his miracles, and studied white magic with him in this very laboratory ... and also witnessed his despair as none of the spells he cast restored his sight. Eris was left behind when Rezo departed in search of the Philosopher's Stone ... and then learned of his death at Lina's hands.
As Rezo's last living follower, Eris believes it is her duty to carry out his revenge against those who killed him. That's why she created the Copy Rezo, and why she needed the Sword of Light to open the seal above the laboratory - and why she is now wielding the tablet which embodies Rezo's legacy. But Sylphiel knows that the tablet's power will release a terrible disaster, and she pleads with Eris not to use it. Lina takes flight with a Levitation spell, trying to intercept Eris (who is already airborne), but the Copy Rezo hurls his staff at her like a spear; the staff is blasted aside by one of Zelgadis' spell bolts, and he challenges Rezo himself, saying "Your fight is with me!"
The Rezo copy kill's Eris and removes the gem in his forehead which allowed her to control him as a copy. The evil miasma that is Zanaffar takes a roughly hydra-shape of blue-white light around Rezo; Zelgadis refers to the "psychic pressure" as incredible. Lina and company are both confused and somewhat horrified by these acts. Lina asks the eternal question, "Why?", and the copy Rezo simply replies that while Eris lived, he could not fulfill his objective, surpassing the original Rezo.
Lina almost dies, but later gets restored under ground where she gets the Blessed Blade which is the only weapon that can beat the Rezo copy.Rezo seems pleased that Lina has returned, asking her if she'll show him her Giga Slave now. She replies with an enigmatic "Maybe!", as Gourry tosses her the Hikari no Ken. Lina, of course, is thrilled and asks Gourry if he's giving it to her for good. Of course he replies that he ISN'T, that she can have it to beat Rezo. Lina blinks, then tosses it back at him, saying she doesn't need it...then points the Blessed Blade outward, stating it will be all she needs. Rezo asks her what she plans on doing with that "toy sword", and Lina taunts him to find out just how much of a toy sword it really is. He does so by lashing out at her with a tendril of Zanaffar's miasma, which Lina easily slashes through with the Blessed Blade, absorbing the evil power into itself.
Rezo blinks in surprise, then smiles at the challenge one more time, now thoroughly lost in his desire to kill Lina Inverse. Lina outlines her plan to kill Rezo: Zel and Amelia will head out front, casting astral spells at Gourry's sword, which will amplify them. Everyone will then take formation to push Rezo up against the Holy Tree. Rezo calls up as much power as he can, then remarks he's glad they're taking the situation so seriously now, before lashing out with magical energy.
The group immediately springs into action, Zelgadis launching a Goz Vu Rou and Amelia tossing an Elmekia Lance at Rezo, who easily blocks both attacks and knocks Amelia to the ground. Lina snatches Amelia into the air with her via Raywing, then shouts for Gourry out in front. Zelgadis and Amelia cast the Bram Blazer spell at the Hikari no Ken, which Gourry uses to thrust the amplified spell at Rezo, who spends much of his energy defending it...leaving Lina wide open to slash at the miasma with the Blessed Blade, driving Rezo back onto the thick roots of Flagoon. Rezo, bleeding now from more wounds, is astounded. "Their tactics are different now...is it all because of that girl?"
Zelgadis notes that Rezo must be part Mazoku now after the merge, using three mouths to chant multiple spells at once, explaining his extreme magical power. Lina notes that she can probably use that against him, and gives her "final orders". Using the Raywing spell, Lina takes the Blessed Blade and flies up into Flagoon's branches for cover, followed by a hail of magical bolts from Rezo. Once Lina is out of sight, however, he focuses a fiery spread at the remaining group, who is shielding by Sylpheel. Zelgadis and Amelia being the Ra-Tilt, casting it in tandem (the spell energy forms a small heart when it merges!), and Gourry amplifying it via the Hikari no Ken. The attack hits Rezo hard, forcing him to use most of his power to defend, the energy released forming a huge blossoming column of magical energy.
As the powers rage on, Lina descends from the branches, holding the Blessed Blade in attack position, speeding along with her Raywing straight at Rezo. The Red Priest counterattacks, but Lina manages to dodge the incoming bursts of flame, eventually flying STRAIGHT into Rezo, driving the Blessed Blade through his body and pinning him to Flagoon with the Blade itself. Rezo cannot seem to handle this; he calls it impossible and is stunned beyond belief at his defeat. Lina explains that she doesn't know why Rezo really picked this fight with her, and she doesn't want to. However, Lina claims Rezo made two mistakes in exacting his revenge. One was hurting a lot of people doing it...the other was picking a fight with Lina Inverse!
At this point, Lina calls out to Sylpheel to act, and she certainly does, beginning a powerful casting of the Recovery spell. Rezo begins to look panicked and grabs Lina, though he can do little more than that. His eyes go somewhat crazy, and his voice takes on insane tones as he shouts "I MUST surpass the original Rezo! No, I HAVE surpassed him! Haven't I? HAVEN'T I?!" Lina, however, answers only with a shake of the head. Sylpheel finishes the Recovery spell, the bright white light of it blinding...and suddenly, the Holy Tree begins to recover from the damage Rezo had inflicted. The blinding white light expands outward from the Blessed Blade, as Lina explains that the now-healed Flagoon, along with the Blessed Blade, is once again absorbing the evil power of Zanaffar into itself.
When all is said and done, Rezo lies dying at the foot of Flagoon, lit with the bright light of holy power, as Lina approaches him. Rezo asks Lina if he had truly lost, and she sadly agrees. Rezo can't seem to understand why, and wonders if he truly was nothing more than a copy. Lina, however, disagrees and explains. Rezo's true weakness was that he couldn't see any farther in front of him than killing Lina, and that made him weaker than any clone could ever be. Rezo nods, finally understanding...and before he dies, he asks Lina what it is she sees that keeps her going. She smiles, and simply replies "I see a flower whose name I don't know yet." Zelgadis inquires of the Copy Rezo what he would like on his gravestone, but the Red Priest declines, asking instead that the Holy Tree Flagoon be his monument, and he finally passes on, having acheived understanding for the first time.
Then you see Lina and the gang helping to rebuild Sairaag, busy constructing houses...and in the frame of one house, wolfing down a table full of chicken and other goodies, is none other than Lina Inverse and Gourry Gabriev, along with Amelia and Zelgadis, who are also eating at Linaspeed (tm). Sylpheel seems a little embarassed by this, as Gourry asks if she will be eating. When Sylpheel declines, everyone else shrugs in a "more for us!" manner, before Gourry asks Sylpheel what she plans to do now, and she meekly replies that she'll have to help rebuild her city and her home. In an attempt to change the subject, she throws the question back at Lina and Gourry, who in tandem reply "Haven't thought about it at all!". Sylpheel sweatbeads and asks Zelgadis the same question, who stoically replies that he'll travel to find a cure for his condition. Amelia invites him back to Saillune, but before she can really finish her sentence her father rides up on the horizon. Lina greets him as "Useless Phil" and inquires about his health...but when his familial relation to Amelia is revealed, Sylpheel goes into the same kind of shock Lina displays when she meets Phil in ep.11 (Sylpheel: "But princes are supposed to be smart and handsome!" Zelgadis: "Reality is never that sweet."), shortly before passing out. Amelia makes a comment about not treating Phil like a monster, but that then again that might be hard. Everyone has a good laugh, and fade to black on our heroes...
or all of 5 seconds, until a Saillune messenger screaming for Phil comes streaking toward the group, about to deliver a message to Phil shortly before Sylpheel interrupts him by smacking him in the head: "Don't call him a prince in front of me!" However, Phil of course needs to run off to Saillune right away to solve the problem, dragging a protesting Lina Inverse behind him. Amelia naturally follows right behind on command, then Gourry and Zelgadis do the same after exchanging resigned shrugs/smiles, and of course Sylpheel, left all alone, dashes off after the group in a panic. So now, our heroes are off on another quest, god only knows where...but we know for sure victory will certainly be theirs!

Slayers Next
Lina and Gourry head into a new town, wanting to see a particular book which is only on display once a year. She thinks it might be one of the legendary Clair Bibles. Lina is eating, as usual, when suddenly a fight breaks out in the restaurant. Never, ever mess with Lina's dinner... Lina and Gourry then end up fighting. Now, it just so happens that Amelia Wil Tesla Saillune, princess of Saillune, is also in the town on some business with the king. Amelia hears the commotion and thinks of Lina... and suddenly, she SEES Lina. But Amelia has some important business... and doesn't want Lina to blow something else up, so Amelia splits. The king and his daughter Martina are building up their nation's military in hopes of taking over more territory. Amelia is sent as an ambassador from Saillune to demand that they cease their hostile actions. Figuring that if they capture Amelia, Saillune will not attack them, the king hires a mercenary - Zelgadiss Greywars. So, while Amelia is deciding whether or not to fight Zelgadiss, a close friend of hers, they calmly begin tying her up...
Lina suddenly shows up, blowing up part of the castle in search of the book. Indeed, she already has it. But, hey, she saves Amelia too. The book, though, is a manual for an old, outdated mechanical golem, and not a Clair Bible, much to Lina's and Zelgadiss' disappointment. Zelgadiss, now knowing that the book is not the Clair Bible, turns on his employers. Martina fires up the golem and starts attacking Lina for destroying their castle.
(If you hadn't gatherd Lina and Zel are looking for a Claire Bible) Well After Lina blows up Martina's kingdom, Martina tags along waiting for her chance for revenge.
Lina and the others get a hunch about the Clair Bible and trek to Halshifom's mansion... but they find a very curious sight awaiting them. Two rivals are there each has been halfway turned into stone. And this mysterious person awaits at the top of the stairwell. He seems a very quiet man, but the group is a little annoyed at him. Y'see, he's been kidnapping people for his experiments, and draining their energy. So, of course, they attack. Except this person, introduced as Halshifom, doesn't budge, not even from the strongest attack! Lina at first doesn't want to participate. Then the point is made that all of the work she's done in the past few days was done for free.
The group determines that they're gonna all have to attack Halshifom at once if they're gonna win. This thought comes to them once they get separated, though. While Amelia and Zelgadiss get captured by bugs, Lina and Gourry are spritzed away by Seigram, the guy with the mask. Then...
They sit down and eat dinner with him. o.O Lina realizes that there's been an awful lot of illusions running around lately, so she casts Flow Break to dispel them... and then leaves Seigram's company. They make their way upstairs, where they see Halshifom... and a girl they saw in a picture earlier. She's hooked up to a crystalline device, which, in turn, is connected to several other pools, which contain bodies. Two look very familiar - Zelgadiss and Amelia.
Gourry leaps in to save Amelia and Zelgadiss from the pools, and... lo and behold, the girl is reborn. Halshifom goes to her and finds her to be an empty shell of what she once was, practically an emotionless doll. In his anguish and wish to be left alone, Halshifom Burst Flares the place, blowing everything up. Ouch!
Then as all show go there are several little aventures where Martina curses Lina but screws it up and puts it on her self also. Then they fight a dragon, hear a roumer that Amelia's dad is dead, but then find him ALIVE wow big suprise right? THEN they find out that it was Amelia's brother who set the trap the supoedly killed the king. And now because of Martina, Lina can't use her magic.
Well, there is a ritual which Lina can undergo to cure herself. Only Martina screws it up and blows up the cauldron. Not only that, Zazan strikes again, with a horde of Brass Demons in tow. Well, Xelloss and the girl healer who can help Lina, Kira, hide in the shadows until it starts getting rough. Then Xelloss steps in, casting two spells - one of which activates his talismans, the other of which sends a burst of flames throughout the area, surrounding Zazan. Xelloss gets rid of Zazan, but Lina wants the talismans! She and Martina throw out counteroffers, and Lina finally breaks down and trades all of her stuff for it. Xelloss, surprisingly, hands over his four talismans to Lina. Then, Martina finds something in Kira's cauldron which might have been worth more a Clair Bible.
Then they fight with Mazenda and Kanzeil again but lose . . . again. This time Mazenda and Kanzeil took Amelia's dad with them. (Mazenda and Kanzeil are the people who tryed to kill the king before!)
Later Lina uses the Laguna Blade to kill Kanzeil and Mazenda is all ready dead.
The next misaventure leads them to a temple where you can larn a powerful attach and Lina SINGS!! ya weird I know. After that they go to a tower and get turned into puppets but Lina is there so she kill's the evil puppet running things. Once again WEIRD!But Gorry who was in a jellyfish costume liked it a little to much and got a smack for his trouble.
Next Qusest has Lina and the gang in a chalange with a tennis like game and Lina's apponet? MARTINA! But Xel swithes Lina's magic racket 4 a fake one and Lina gets the crap beaten outta her then Xel returns the racket and Lina SMASHES Martina in the forhead and win's the game. Then the next day the guys get dressed up like girls and they get attacked by an ice demon.
Then the meet an old lady who's tell's them where a Claire Bible is. They head off and run into the Chaos-Dragon Gaav. He is after Lina and wants her killed, then a golden dragon appears and leads Lina and Martina to the moutain where the Bible is hidden. Lina finds out that the ammulets she bought frome Xel have the lord of nightmares in them! she uses the power to cast the Giga Slave to kill Fibrizo, the Hellmaster who hired Gaav to kill her and he also captured Garvy! She kill's Fibrizo, and Garvy is set free but she used her life to do it!!!
Later Garvy chases Lina's body and the lord of nightmares lets Lina live because of her kindness Garvy and Lina kiss then she realised what she's doing and hits him on the head! Yup she's back all right! ::tear:: what a happy ending ^_^;
